For two weeks, the picturesque village of Alpbach in the Austrian Alps brought together young people from around the world, including Romania, to discuss topics of great interest to Generation Z, such as climate change.

In addition to global warming, those attending the Alpbach Forum also discussed challenges related to democracy, energy security and the war in Ukraine.

An essential part of the Alpbach experience is the opportunity for young people to interact directly with renowned politicians and representatives from the business world.

Teodora Drăghiciu is a student at the Sorbonne University in Paris and is in Austria for the first time.

"It has been two magical weeks. (…) From heads of state, diplomats, ministers and senior officials to students, young professionals and even locals from the Tyrolean village of Alpbach, everyone has brought something that I will take with me in life", she says.

Ionela Ruști is a fellow of the Alpbach Romania Initiative Group:

"The security topics discussed during the forum were the most interesting to me, and the seminars I attended were very helpful in improving my knowledge in this area. As a graduate of a Master's program in International Politics in Belgium, I am glad I had the opportunity to discuss a variety of topics with other participants who come from different fields and have a different academic background. I will carry forward what I discovered in Alpbach and will try as much as possible to implement some of the ideas and topics from the forum into my work as an intern at the Council of the European Union".
