A dangerous and incredibly hot dry weather front from Africa is heading towards the Balkan states. This means that people in the region will have to endure dangerously high, often life-threatening temperatures. Authorities have urged citizens to exercise extra caution.

With climate change, the holiday season is no longer just about relaxation and vacations. Summer now brings with it unbearably hot weather, high temperatures that pose a threat to health and life, and frequent fires that ravage large parts of Europe and the world. Regrettably, there are no indications of this situation improving in the near future.

Currently, heat waves are heading towards the Balkan countries. People living there will need to be vigilant about their health and safety. Experts predict temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius, making it necessary to avoid spending time outdoors. Drinking plenty of water, using sunscreen, and wearing headgear is also essential.

Meteorologists and health services in Serbia and Croatia have issued a red weather alert for parts of these countries. Authorities are urging residents to stay home unless absolutely necessary to protect themselves from the extreme heat. The government of Serbia has also instructed employers to ensure the safety of employees working outdoors.

"Winds from North Africa have pushed a hot and dry front over the Balkans, causing temperatures in Serbia to reach as high as 40 degrees Celsius this week. Last night, doctors in Belgrade responded to more than 100 emergencies, primarily due to health issues among people with heart disease, who are particularly vulnerable to the rising temperatures," Al-Jazeera TV journalists reported.
